Volleyball Coach | Aurora, CO

Kraken is a youth and adult sports club, providing education and competition in the sports of basketball, futsal, volleyball, baseball, and softball. Our club is opening a new location in Aurora Colorado. We offer volleyball education, camps, clinics, private instruction and boys and girls club teams. Our facility features 4 basketball / 8 volleyball hardwood courts, an indoor baseball/softball training center, a kid’s adventure park and a restaurant. We are excited to bring quality sports education and competition to our location in Colorado.

We are looking for experienced and passionate volleyball coaches. Kraken offers diverse volleyball programs including:  club teams, camps, clinics, leagues and private lessons. Club team girl and boy athletes range from 8-18 years of age. Must foster great team culture while instilling the importance of being good teammates. Fundamental understanding of volleyball skills and instruction are of the utmost importance. Coaches must teach and train Kraken approved Gold Medal Squared curriculum. Practices must be executed with purposeful written practice plans that train towards team and athlete goals. Coaches must complete monthly player discussions on progress towards personal and team goals. 

We invest in our staff with in-house coach education and mentoring, as well as support for the attendance of external clinics and conferences. if you have not coached the Gold Medal Squared methodology, we will teach you the curriculum. You may have coached similar concepts with different lingo.


  • 1-2+ years coaching club and or school teams
  • Strong proven experience instructing fundamental volleyball skills 
  • Volleyball player who seeks to improve skills and competition level
  • Proven communicator comfortable with athlete, parent and leadership discussions
  • Track record creating positive competitive team cultures and learning environments
  • Experience coaching a volleyball methodology in and across a club/school with multiple teams
  • Kraken mentors coaches in Gold Medal squared methodologies and curriculum


  • Background Clearance
  • Puget Sound Region USA Volleyball Coach Membership
  • IMPACT Certification from USA Volleyball
  • Completed SafeSport and USA Volleyball officiating courses
  • Enthusiasm and passion for volleyball and coaching
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
  • Requirements must be met prior to tryouts
  • Exception is PSR training that is yet to be scheduled

Time Commitment

  • 1.5-2.5 hours twice / weekly team practices
  • 2-3 tournaments / month | 1-3 day events
  • 7am-9pm | December - May/June
  • 3 day events may require air travel
  • Attendance of all practices and tournaments
  • Conflicts must be disclosed prior to accepting offer
  • Attendance issues result in reduced pay/termination

Camps, Clinics, Leagues & Lessons

There is also the opportunity to coach the below programs, whether it be an existing Kraken coach, or a coach that does not have the available time to commit to a full club team season. By working these programs, Kraken club team coaches earn pay in addition to our competitive club team coaching stipend. Coaches can also work as tournament directors and coordinators.
